Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Datahoot ("we", "us") collects through datahoot.com and its subdomains, including the free AI scanner and contact form, and how that information is used.
Information we collect
Domains you scan. When you enter a domain into the free scanner, we read publicly available text from that website to generate recommendations. We do not store the domains you scan or the text extracted from them once your session ends.
Contact form submissions. If you submit the contact form, we collect and store your name, email address, company (if provided), and message, along with the domain you last scanned (if any), your IP address, and browser user agent. This information is stored in our database and used only to respond to your inquiry.
Email signups. If you provide your email to save a scan's results, or to subscribe to our Tech Trends Debrief newsletter, we store that email address to send you the results or the newsletter you signed up for. These signups do not store which domain you scanned — only the email address itself.
Basic technical data. Like most websites, our backend processes IP addresses to prevent abuse (for example, limiting how many scans, form submissions, or signups can come from one address per hour). This is used for rate-limiting only and is not linked to an ongoing profile of you.
Cookies
As of this policy, this site does not use cookies or similar technology for advertising or cross-site tracking.
How we use information
- To generate AI tool recommendations from the domain you provide
- To respond to messages submitted through the contact form
- To send scan results or newsletter content to an email you provide
- To detect and prevent abuse of the free scanner, contact form, and signups
- To improve the accuracy and usefulness of our tools over time
Third-party service providers
We rely on the following providers to operate our site and services. Each processes data under its own privacy policy:
- Anthropic — processes website text to generate AI tool recommendations
- Cloudflare — provides bot protection (Turnstile) for the scanner and contact form
- Supabase — hosts our database, including stored contact form submissions
- Render and Vercel — host our backend and website respectively
Data retention
Contact form submissions and email signups are retained until you request deletion or until we no longer have a business reason to keep them. Scanned domains and extracted website text are not retained after your scan completes.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you (such as a contact form submission) by emailing us at the address below.
Children's privacy
Our site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
